Kingdom City
by Sheri Wilner | Directed by Kate Buckley
OCOTBER 25 - NOVEMBER 11 | LAB Theatre
Based on a true incident in 2006, Kingdom City is a new play that looks at America’s “culture wars” and the ongoing debate over conflicted values.
A theater director from New York is invited to stage the local high school production in Kingdom City, Missouri. She suggests Arthur Miller’s classic drama, The Crucible. Cast in roles are teenage members of a Christian youth sexual abstinence program. When the play is deemed morally unsuitable by the local youth minister, the students become players in issues that divide the town.
| Appropriate for high school and up.
