Clarence Brown Theatre Society Artist Fund

Dale Dickey in 'A Streetcar Named Desire'

The mixing up of young actors [and designers] with first class professionals is manifestly the only right method of training future theatre artists."
~ Clarence Leon Brown

Carol Mayo Jenkins in 'Major Barbara'

Forty years ago, Clarence and Marian Brown envisioned at UT
a theatre that would enrich the cultural landscape of East Tennessee.

Today, The Clarence Brown Theatre (CBT) is a cultural jewel of the region and every year distinguished artists come from around the world to direct, design, perform, and teach in our community. These artists are the lifeblood of excellence in the CBT.

John Cullum and JD Cullum in 'The Dresser'

The Brown's vision was truly inspired. To sustain this legacy, The Clarence Brown Theatre Society (CBTS) has created an Artists Fund dedicated to bringing national and international caliber theatre artists to Knoxville.

David Keith and Dale Dickey in 'The Rainmaker'

Great artists inspire us all. To keep them coming to Knoxville, please consider becoming a donor to the Artists Fund today.
