Thomas A. Cervone (Managing Director) is currently celebrating his 23rd season with the CBT and the Department of Theatre at UTK, 17th as its principal administrator and, of course, is flattered and humbled to do so. Additionally, Tom serves on numerous committees, councils, and boards for the University of Tennessee: the Employee Labor Relations Board, the Commission for Women, the Council for Diversity and Interculturalism, the Cultural Affairs Board, the Exempt Staff Council, and this upcoming year, Tom will serve as Co-Chair (with Ms. Jenny Moshak) for the Chancellor’s Commission for LGBT People. This past spring, Tom received a Chancellor’s Citation for Extraordinary Service to the University. A humbling and happy moment! Tom also sits on the CBT Advisory Board, the Board for the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Greater Knoxville, the Board for Leadership Knoxville, the Board for the Knox County Alumni Chapter of UTK, as well as the Executive and Negotiating committees for the League of Resident Theatres (LORT). Tom received his undergraduate degree in Speech and English Education with an emphasis in Theatre from West Liberty University in West Virginia. He received his MFA degree from UTK, and completed the Professional MBA program at the University of Tennessee in December 2010. Tom is also a graduate (and class representative) of Leadership Knoxville, Class of 2011, “the best class ever.”
