Please report emergencies, safety hazards, and any other concerns to our ushers, Patron Services team members, or House Manager. During performances, the House Manager is in the theatre lobby. To reach House Management at any time, callĀ 865.974.8287.

Before you leave for your night at the theatre, provide the name your tickets are under, your seat number, and the House Manager phone number
865.974.8287Ā to your babysitter or loved one just in case you need to be reached during a performance.

When inclement weather causes us to cancel a performance, we will announce it through local media outlets, on our social media platforms, our website homepage, and with a recorded message on the Box Office phone atĀ 865.974.5161. If you have purchased a ticket, we also will contact you personally via email, text, and phone call. Ticket exchanges for a cancelled performance will be accommodated the next business day, waiving the per ticket fee.

Evening performances begin promptly at 7:30 pm and matinees at 2:00 pm. We encourage you to arrive by 7:00 pm for evening performances, and 1:30 pm for matinees. Seats are guaranteed until show time.

For your safety and to avoid disturbing other patrons, latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager. In rare instances, show conditions may prevent us from admitting late patrons until intermission. Please plan to arrive early to ensure seating and a prompt start time.

We check our facilities nightly for any items that may have been left behind. Ā To inquire about a lost item, please contact theĀ Box Office with a description of the lost item, when and where you think you lost it, and contact information so we can get in touch with you. Ā Items left in our Lost & Found more than 30 days will be discarded.

Out of respect for our actors and patrons, we are unable to admit children under five years of age. Additionally, fire codes require that each patron has a ticket ā€” lap-seating is strictly prohibited.

Some productions may not be appropriate for children of all ages. Guidance to age-appropriateness can be found on our website or by calling/emailing the Box Office at 865.974.5161Ā orĀ box_office@utk.edu.

A first come-first-served waiting list will begin 45 minutes prior to curtain (or as required) for sold-out performances. Should seating become available through ticket donations, release of house seats, or other means, these seats will be released based on the order of the waiting list. Wait-listed patrons may be seated as latecomers.

We make every attempt to adhere to the production schedule described on our website, but reserve the right to make title and schedule changes due to unforeseen circumstances. Refunds will not be issued due to a change in a productionā€™s title or performance schedule.

Will Call is located at the Box Office in the main lobby of the Clarence Brown Theatre. For Lab Theatre productions, Will Call is located at the desk in the lobby of the Lab Theatre.

Tickets must be picked up from Will Call at least five minutes prior to show time. All remaining tickets will be released to accommodate customers on the Waiting List.

Accessibility

Available on the 3rd Sunday matinee of each production, Open Captioning is a text display of all the words and sounds heard during the performance –very similar to closed captioning on your TV.

Featuring both headset-style and induction-loop, our Assisted Listening Devices (ALDs) are available on a first come-first-served basis and are free of charge. For performances in the CBT, ALDs are available at the Concessions Stand. For Lab Theatre performances, ALDs may be obtained from the Box Office in the Lab Lobby.

For patrons with light/noise sensitivities or attention difficulties, sensory boxes ā€“ which include noise-reducing headphones, sunglasses, stress balls and fidget items ā€“ are available for check out free in the lobby prior to each performance.

These Deaf Night at the Theatre events are produced through a partnership withĀ UTā€™s Center on DeafnessĀ and are designed to be fully accessible for members of the Deaf community with over a dozen interpreters stationed throughout the facility and two teams interpreting the production. To order tickets for the interpreted section, please contact the Box OfficeĀ 865.974.5161Ā as this is not available online.

Sign interpreting is also available by request for all CBT productions. To request this, please call the House ManagerĀ 865.974.8287Ā at least 30 days before the performance you would like to attend. All requests are subject to interpreter availability.

Powered doors are located on the South (Left) side of the main lobby at both the main entrance and at the accessible level for the Clarence Brown Theatre.
Accessible restrooms are located in the main lobby of the Clarence Brown Theatre.
Our theatres feature wheelchair accessible locations. Please know that all accessible locations require patrons to navigate ramps between parking, the lobbies, the restrooms, and the theatres. If you have severe mobility issues, you may want to bring a wheelchair or other mobility aid. If you require accessible seating or would like assistance at the theatre, please contact the House ManagerĀ 865.974.8287Ā at least 24 hours in advance.

Based on your individual needs and preferences, you may also elect to transfer to a theatre seat from a walker, wheelchair, or scooter. Due to fire codes, unoccupied walkers, wheelchairs, and scooters will be stored by our House staff and can be returned to you at any time.
